Cadillac Place (or the GM Building) downtown Detroit. Now occupied by the State of Michigan. I was commissioned to photograph this building by a very nice woman whose friend is a GM retiree who spent a lifetime here. I was delighted to do it and it was fun to try to work around the challenges involved. One, it's a mammoth building, two there was construction in front due to a large broken window, many cars and people coming and going, and of course, it's winter and the building faces north. No problem. I wanted to represent the massive scale and power of the building and also capture the nice architectureal details in the main entry way. A Shot A Day. 365. 3-9-10.
