"Stanley Lake" | Sawtooth National Recreation Area | Idaho
It's early on this summer morning, not too long after sunrise, when I arrive to find this peaceful stillness in the air at Stanley Lake. The moon still hangs in the sky and there's not a ripple on the lake. The air is cool but the rising sun feels warm. A few quiet campsites ring part of the lake and soon folks will start to roll out of those sleeping bags, but for now the lake is all mine.
