"Symphony" | Sunset and a full moon rising over the Lost River Range and Mt. Borah | Idaho
This past summer, our travels took us back to Idaho. We had an absolutely fantastic couple of weeks camping, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, white water rafting, horseback riding, and of course photographing, Central Idaho. This image of the Lost River Range is one of my favorites from the trip.
Located in the Salmon-Challis National Forest, the Lost River Range is absolutely stunning and offers miles and miles of trail with no one else around. We'd spent a fantastic day hiking to Bear Creek Lake. It's a 4-wheel drive adventure just to get to the trail head, but the trail winds its way through a beautiful forest and ends at a sea green mountain lake surrounded by sharp peaks. A sight well worth the effort to reach.
That evening, on our way back to camp, we drove along highway 93 which parallels the range. As the sunset started to deepen, we stopped to witness the warm light of sunset lighting up the Lost River Range and Mount Borah, Idaho's tallest peak. As we watched, the full moon rose above the range. It was definitely one of those jaw dropping moments you'll never forget.
