Glint | Vermilion Lakes, Banff National Park, Alberta Canada
Rarely does one get this fortunate on a first night out in a new location. After a couple of long days of travel, followed by setting up camp, we were finally in Banff National Park. Although it was getting late, I decided to hustle over to the Vermilion Lakes to try to catch the sunset. I'd done my research on this string of lovely small lakes but had never set foot there and the light was fading fast on this cloudy evening. It didn't seem likely that I'd be able to scout the location quickly enough to capture much, but at least I'd be ready for the following night.
Every now and then, things work out in your favor, and this was definitely one of those times. I found this lovely spot at the very end of this string of lakes just in time to catch the setting sun as it managed to get a few rays out from behind the clouds. What a fantastic way to begin our time in the Canadian Rockies.
